Here's the fourth and final week of Me Made May! I added the last few days of the month onto this week as well. I spent most of this week in Berlin with my family in the lead-up to my brother’s wedding in Gnewikow, and the weather was HOT, so more sewing projects than knits in this one.

Day 22: Friday
I spent the day exploring Witney, visiting the Witney Blanket Hall to learn of the local wool history and enjoying a pint in a pub garden by the river — the weather was hot and sunny for the first time this trip!
Me mades: I’m wearing a skirt that I upcycled from a thrifted dress. I really liked the shape and fabric of the dress, but I didn’t like the color (very pale yellow) or the straps (too frilly), and eventually realized the top didn’t fit quite right. So I chopped off the top and sewed down the waistband with elastic thread and added some waistband elastic, and then threw it in a pot of Rit dye. I originally tried brown, but it was dull and boring so I dyed it again to sage green, and now it’s one of my favorite skirts! I also have my Town Bag by Grainline Studio so I could carry my knitting around the village with me.
Non me mades: Simply Merino tank, Portland Leather Koala Sling bag, and Dankso Rowan sandals.
Day 23: Saturday
This was a travel day, so I wanted to be comfortable for the 5-hour bus ride from Oxford to Stansted, and for the 2-hour flight from Stansted to Berlin. Neither the bus nor the airport had AC, so I was overheating big time despite wearing my most breathable clothes.
Me mades: I’m wearing my tatreez baseball cap I made with a motif from Tatreez Traditions, and using my Town Bag to carry my knitting.
Non me mades: Ridge Merino tee shirt, Wool& Lane Pants, and Portland Leather Koala Sling bag.
Day 24: Sunday
My first day in Berlin with my family and it was HOT. We spent the morning exploring a flea market, then went on a boat tour of the Spree and out to dinner at a traditional Bavarian restaurant.
Me mades: Tatreez cap to save my head from the sun and my Lil Bucky Bag by Leila Makes that I finished just before this trip, with waxed canvas from Gather Here and a fat quarter from Banyan Batiks.
Non me mades: A thrifted M&S dress that I picked up in a charity shop in Witney before heading to Berlin, since I realized it was going to be a lot warmer than the forecast had promised when I left Boston. I also have my Portland Leather bag and Dansko sandals.

Day 25: Monday
This was a more relaxed day, the weather was hot again so I stayed in the AC and got some work done, and then headed out to the biergarten along the river by our hotel to do some embroidery and get a little sun.
Me mades: This dress is barely a me-made, but I’m counting it anyway! I got this dress on Poshmark because I loved the shape, but the color was a very pale, cool grey that didn’t look great with my skin tone. I overdyed it with Rit dye in this bright purple, though I had intended it to be more plum. I didn’t have time to redo it before I left, but I think when I get home I’m going to dye it a little more brown so it hopefully ends up closer to plum. I’m also wearing my tatreez cap, of course!
Non me mades: Dansko sandals and my favorite Indie Untangled tote bag to hold my embroidery project.
Day 26: Tuesday
Tuesday was a girls’ day, we took the bride and her mom to the nail salon to get manis and pedis before the wedding.
Me mades: Tatreez cap and Lil Bucky Bag.
Non me mades: Thrifted M&S dress, Portland Leather bag, and Dansko sandals.
Day 27: Wednesday
We headed to Spreewald for the day to eat pickles, taste whisky at a local distillery, and take a gondola tour of the Spree canals.
Me mades: Tatreez cap and Lil Bucky bag.
Non me mades: Thrifted Urban Outfitters shirt, thrifted Land’s End jeans, Simply Merino tank, and my trusty Blundstones.

Day 28: Thursday
I took a day away from the fam to head to Wedding to visit my favorite Berlin yarn shop, Wollen Berlin.
Me mades: Lil Bucky Bag.
Non me mades: Thrifted Gap jeans, thrifted Queen t-shirt, and my Blundstones. I also have my Indie Untangled tote bag to carry my yarn purchases!
Day 29: Friday
We headed to Gnewikow for the wedding! Today was just for checking in to the guest house and having a little barbeque to welcome everyone.
Me mades: My upcycled thrifted dress->skirt.
Non me mades: Portland Leather Koala Sling bag and Simply Merino tank.
Day 30: Saturday
My brother’s wedding day! The wedding was outdoors and there was finally a bit of a breeze and a chill in the air, so I got to wear a new cardigan I was working on throughout this trip.
Me mades: A cardigan in Magpie Fibers Nest Sport in “Twilight Whisper”. I made the pieces on my KX350 knitting machine and then hand-knit the garter stitch cuffs and hems. It worked well for this purpose but turned out slightly different than I planned, so I am going to reknit all the garter stitch and maybe the sleeves too when I get home to make it perfect. I also knit this little purse out of a sparkly gold yarn I had in my stash, with a sewn-in lining in quilting cotton. The strap is a chunky chain I got at Michaels. I made it a while ago for a different wedding and it’s become my go-to wedding bag.
Non me mades: A washable silk dress from Quince and my Dansko sandals. I don’t really love Quince as a brand as they tend to engage in a lot of greenwashing, but it’s pretty hard to find formal dresses in natural fibers these days so I bit the bullet and got one new from Quince. I plan to wear it a lot more though, it’s very comfortable and washes well!

Day 31: Sunday
The family headed back to Berlin to recover from the festivities before scattering across Europe for individual adventures, so it was a pretty casual day and I totally forgot to take a photo. Whoops!
And that’s all for Me Made May 2026! I’ve had such a fun time creating outfits with my me mades and challenging myself to do something new each day. of course, that wasn’t always possible when travelling, but I’m even more inspired now to make more of my clothes and maybe even make a travel capsule wardrobe! I have so many ideas and plans for more sewing this summer and I can’t wait to share with you!
