Learn to crochet a slip-stitch edge around a neckline or armhole to create a neater transition when picking up stitches for a collar or hem. This technique is great for ribbed collars and hems, where the purl stitches create awkward bumps when picked up directed from the fabric. It works especially well with contrast colors, but can be used with the main color too.
